Call center software
Call center software is the software a business uses to answer, distribute, record and report on its inbound and outbound phone calls.
Call center software is the umbrella term for the tools that let a team handle phone calls in an organized, measurable way. Its core parts are a greeting menu or IVR that answers incoming calls, queues that hold callers in line, automatic call distribution that hands each call to a suitable person, the screen agents work from, and reporting. It used to run on servers in the office; today it is mostly delivered from the cloud as a service. In recent years, AI voice agents that handle routine calls on their own have become part of the same stack.
How it works
A call reaches the software over the line from your carrier. The software sends it through the flow you defined: to a menu, to a voice agent or to a queue, where it waits for an available agent. The agent takes the call in an agent desk, sees the caller's details on the same screen and records an outcome code and a note at the end. Supervisors watch the queues live, and every event flows into reports and the CRM.
Why it matters
Calls stop getting lost: each one reaches the right person and leaves a record. Metrics such as service level, abandonment rate and average handle time can only be calculated from this data. When choosing a product, look at how it is deployed, whether you can keep your existing number, the integrations, recording and privacy compliance, and language support.
In Speakline
Speakline is call center software that combines Turkish-speaking AI voice agents with queues, a browser-based agent desk, live monitoring and reports on one platform. The agent handles routine calls and, when needed, hands the call to a person together with a summary. See Call center for details.
